This signature detects DNS requests with a resource record type of 'ANY'. This special DNS request type asks the server for any cached records relating to the domain requested. While this can be a legitimate request, the most common use is to perform spoofed requests for ANY records to a recursive DNS server that flood a victim with un-requested information. This is known as a "DNS Amplification" or sometimes a "DNS Reflection" attack.
