This signature detects attempts to exploit a known cross-site scripting vulnerability in the Cisco Unified Operations Manager. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. Attackers can steal cookie-based authentication credentials and launch other attacks.
Cisco Unified Operations Manager is prone to a cross-site scripting vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data. An attacker may leverage this issue to execute arbitrary script code in the browser of an unsuspecting user in the context of the affected site. This may allow the attacker to steal cookie-based authentication credentials and to launch other attacks. This issue is being tracked by Cisco Bug ID CSCto12712. Cisco Unified Operations Manager versions prior to 8.6 are vulnerable.
