This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability in phpBB. Several PHP scripts included in the application contain a vulnerability that can allow a malicious user to redirect the root_dir variable to a remote site. A successful attack can result in malicious PHP code injection and download database information.
Insert User for phpBB is prone to a remote file-include vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data. Exploiting this issue may allow an attacker to compromise the application and the underlying system; other attacks are also possible. This issue affects Insert User 0.1.2 and prior versions.
