This signature detects attempts to exploit a known local file inclusion vulnerability in the WHMCS templatefile Parameter. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can exploit this by enticing a target to open a malicious URL link. A successful attack can result in arbitrary code execution and/or loss of sensitive information.
WHMCS is prone to a local file-include vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied input. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to obtain potentially sensitive information and execute arbitrary local scripts in the context of the Web server process. This may allow the attacker to compromise the application and computer; other attacks are also possible.
