This signature detects attempts to exploit a known SQL Injection vulnerability in the WordPress WP e-Commerce Plugin. It is due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. An attacker can exploit this issue by manipulating the SQL query logic to carry out unauthorized actions on the underlying database.
The WP e-Commerce plug-in for WordPress is prone to an SQL-injection vulnerability because it fails to sufficiently sanitize user-supplied data before using it in an SQL query. Exploiting this issue could allow an attacker to compromise the application, access or modify data, or exploit latent vulnerabilities in the underlying database. WP e-Commerce 3.8.4 and prior versions are affected.
