HTTP: Malformed MPEG-4 Video File


This signature detects attempts to exploit a known vulnerability against Microsoft Windows MPEG-4. A successful attack can lead to arbitrary code execution.

Extended Description

Microsoft MPEG-4 codec is prone to a remote code-execution vulnerability. An attacker can exploit this issue by enticing an unsuspecting user to open a malicious file or view a web page containing a malicious file. A successful exploit will result in the execution of arbitrary attacker-supplied code in the context of the currently logged-in user.
