This signature detects a data type modification to the "Password" field in the "User" table. By changing the field type, an attacker can enter passwords longer than expected by the application and potentially exploit a buffer-overflow condition.
A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in the MySQL server. Remote attackers can exploit this vulnerability to trigger a buffer overflow condition, and possibly to crash the affected server, or to execute arbitrary code on an affected machine.
