FINGER: Binary Data in Request

This signature detects binary client-to-server data on FINGER connections. Client-to-server flows of FINGER should not have binary data and the presence of binary data can indicate a buffer overflow or tunneling attempt.

Extended Description

Presence of binary data in a finger client query may indicate a buffer overflow or other attack is being attempted, and should be detected.
