SMB: Microsoft Windows SMBv1 CVE-2017-11815 Information Disclosure


An information disclosure vulnerability has been reported in the SMB Server component of Microsoft Windows. A remote, authenticated attacker could exploit the vulnerability by sending a crafted request to a target SMB server. Successful exploitation could result in the disclosure of information which may be used to facilitate further attacks.

Extended Description

The Microsoft Server Block Message (SMB) on Microsoft Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, Windows RT 8.1, Windows 10 Gold, 1511, 1607, and 1703, and Windows Server 2016, allows an information disclosure vulnerability in the way that it handles certain requests, aka "Windows SMB Information Disclosure Vulnerability".
